Our Roots

Here at Ethembeni Crisis Care Center, we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place for all.

Ethembeni Crisis Care Centre is an organisation based at We the Ethembeni Crisis Care Centre registered non-profit organisation, based at eMangangeni in KwaNdengezi Township, Ward 12 the sub-structure of Ethekwini Municipality, Durban Metro, KwaZulu-Natal province, South Africa. In year 2003, the community of KwaNdengezi realized the need of rehabilitation center, which afterwards the community discovered that, to establish the rehabilitation center would be very expensive, because rehabilitation center will need a very professional and conducive working environment comprising; Doctors or Qualified Nurses, Qualified and experienced Social Workers, Psychologist, Counselors and other staff members that may added due to assist the professionals. Therefore the community members realized that the rehabilitation center could not speed up the assistance which could be the solution to the problem that was confronting the community on that period.


INSPIRATION Owing the high rate of Orphaned and Vulnerable children, Abuse of Women and Children (mostly Domestic Violence), Poverty, Lack of information regarding Human Rights, and the knowledge of relevant institutions that could address the crisis for certain individuals. Then the community suggested to get somebody within the community who can establish the structure that will support community members whom traumatized and stressed by different crisis in our community.
